Watch: Drivers brave surface flooding on road in Devonport as Auckland gets a drenching

The incoming tide earlier this morning pushed seawater across the main access road into the seaside suburb of Devonport, in Auckland.

Traffic backed up as cars drove slowly through the rising water on Lake Road.

The effects of the high tide were also felt at Windsor Park which is adjacent to the Devonport Ferry Terminal.

High winds are pushing the rising water over the sea wall as the storm continues to lash the City of Sails.
