UK Government planning to ban gay conversion therapy

It follows a survey which found two per cent of LGBT people had undergone conversion therapy, and five per cent had been offered it.

The British Government is planning to ban gay conversion therapy.

It follows a survey of more than 100,000 LGBT people which found two per cent had undergone conversion therapy, while five per cent had been offered it.

Prime Minister Theresa May has voiced her support, saying "nobody should ever have to hide who they are".

In New Zealand, a petition has been launched, calling on the Government to follow suit.
