Smallville actress at centre of alleged sex cult tried to recruit Emma Watson and Kelly Clarkson - report

April 24, 2018

Smallville star Allison Mack allegedly tried to recruit celebrities including Emma Watson and Kelly Clarkson into the sex cult she was involved in before her arrest last week.

The 35-year-old, who allegedly assisted in the recruitment of “sex slaves” into the secret society, Nxivm, made multiple attempts on Twitter to contact both Clarkson and Watson, who starred in the Harry Potter movies.

Mack sent a subtle tweet to Clarkson in 2013 asking the former American Idol winner to “chat sometime”, according to the New York Daily News.

She then sent two tweets to Watson three years later.

“I’m a fellow actress like yourself & involved in an amazing women’s movement I think you’d dig. I’d love to chat if you’re open,” Mack tweeted in January 2016.

“I participate in a unique human development & women’s movement I’d love to tell you about. As a fellow actress I can relate so well to your vision and what you want to see in the world. I think we could work together. Let me know if you’re willing to chat,” she tweeted again a month later.

Mack, who played the character of Chloe Sullivan on Smallville for ten seasons, is accused to playing a part in the Keith Reniere-led cult, which is being prosecuted for sex trafficking and forced labour charges in the US.

She was arrested last week accused to luring women into the secret society, which was labelled a "women's mentorship group", as Raniere’s second in command.

The women were reportedly blackmailed with compromising images of themselves, forced to have sex with the cult's leader, Raniere, and even branded with Raniere's initials.

FBI assistant director-in-charge William F Sweeney said in a statement: "As this pyramid scheme continues to unravel, we ask anyone who might have been a victim to reach out to us with information that may further our investigation".

If convicted of all charges she currently faces, Mack faces 15 years in prison.
