A meteor has been caught on camera streaking across the night sky over Wisconsin in the US.
The event took place overnight Monday, local time (Tuesday NZT) and was captured on CCTV cameras at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
It was spotted just before midnight and only lasted a couple of seconds.
An estimated 15,000 tons of meteoroids and other space debris enter Earth's atmosphere each year according to a study from Colorado's Southwest Research Institute.
