Tongan police arrested five men this morning following the death of a man who had gone to Tonga for his father’s funeral.
The Utah-based Tongan had been watching the Super Bowl at Tali’eva bar in the capital Nuku’alofa yesterday when a fight broke out.
Video footage, widely shared on social media, shows the man being dragged outside the bar and attacked while lying on the ground.
He later died in Vaiola hospital.
Police say the five suspects are in custody while the investigation continues.
