After yesterday's announcement, 19 of the 32 spots in the tournament draw are now occupied, with the remaining 13 to be made up of both qualification winners and wildcard entries.

With the Auckland tournament beginning one week after the ATP season opener in Brisbane, Budge said that the ASB Classic are hopeful of landing the likes of Andy Murray or Novak Djokovic with a wildcard entry.

"We'll definitely hold one (a wildcard)," Budge told 1 NEWS yesterday.

"There's still a number of guys that haven't made it in."

"Guys like Novak and Andy who knows? If they lose early in week one (Brisbane), they haven't had a lot of tennis for a few months."

"There could be that opportunity as well."
