Watch: Malakai Fekitoa's acrobatics keeps ball in play to set up superb Top 14 try

September 17, 2018

Former All Blacks midfielder Malakai Fekitoa put his body on the line for his French Top 14 club this morning to set up a stellar try.

With a 17-3 halftime deficit against Stade Francais looming in Paris, Toulon launched one last attack down the right wing with a grubber from fullback Jonah Roy Placid.

Fekitoa gave chase, sprinting side-by-side with opposition winger Julien Arias but the former Highlander won the foot race.

Realising how close he was to the touchline and no chance of stopping, Fekitoa smacked the ball back towards the field as he threw his body ahead to complete the improvised pass.

While Fekitoa landed at the base of the advertising boards, teammate Josua Tuisova was on hand to grab the ball and score.

Despite his heroics, Fekitoa's efforts went in vain as Stade Francais earned a comfortable 37-10 win.
