New programme launched by Northland Rugby to help kids realise their potential on and off the field

September 4, 2019

Rugby For Life is a community-led programme to help youth.

It's the game that brings us together and now rugby bosses in Northland are hoping it can motivate the region's young people, too.

A new community-led programme, Rugby for Life, was launched at Saturday’s clash between the Taniwha and Hawke’s Bay which is focused on helping youth - recognising their potential both in rugby and life.

Northland Rugby made the launch a special occasion for the children with free sausages, a chance to meet players such as former All Black Rene Ranger and a chance to watch some Mitre 10 Cup action all on the cards.

For some, it was their first time leaving their home and seeing Whangarei.

Watch the story above to see what the kids thought of the special day.
