Watch: Joseph Parker back on Kiwi soil 'happy to be home' and 'dying to see' his daughter after Anthony Joshua loss

April 4, 2018

The Kiwi heavyweight is looking forward to fishing, family and friends.

Joseph Parker has touched down in New Zealand after an enduring campaign overseas for his world title fight with Anthony Joshua with his thoughts heavily on family, relaxation and returning to the ring.

The Kiwi heavyweight was greeted by fans and media at Auckland International Airport this morning after his unanimous decision loss to Anthony Joshua on Sunday in Cardiff.

Parker said he couldn't wait to see one fan in particular.

"I've been dying to see my daughter," he said.

"I'm going to go home, see her, see my partner and do some fishing."

One thing Parker says he isn't so quick to jump on despite his previous after-fight traditions is a Kiwi pie.

"Training starts tomorrow.

"I'm gonna go for a run now that I'm in good shape."

Parker said he learned a lot from his bout with Joshua and vowed to come back stronger with discussions scheduled to take place in the next fortnight on where, when and who the Kiwi fighter would fight next.

"We'll be back stronger."
