Urgent: Mangere, do you want this in your hood? Kiwi street artist Mr G appeals for public space to paint Joe Parker in South Auckland

March 28, 2018
The street mural of Victoria Cross recipient Moana Ngarim is generating a huge response from Ruatoria locals on the East Coast.

Talented Kiwi street artist Mr G has asked for the public's help as he looks to create a Joseph Parker mural in South Auckland before the massive title fight against Anthony Joshua in Cardiff on Sunday morning.

The edgy and talented Mr G is a major force in New Zealand's street art scene and has previously created murals for music legend Prince and Maori WWII hero Second Lieutenant Moana Ngarimu.

Now he is turning his attention to Parker and Mangere, Auckland, appealing to his fans and the community through a Facebook post today.

"MANGERE! I'm wanting to paint a Big JOSEPH PARKER MURAL to show my/our support for the bro @joeboxerparker BUT I need your help finding a BIG public wall to paint.

"Wall MUST be at LEAST 4m HIGH x 4m Wide! If you have a wall please send photos & contact me," he wrote on his post.

Joseph Parker is confident he is winning the mental battle over Anthony Joshua ahead of their much-anticipated clash.

The artist says he needs to start the project by Friday so he needs a wall urgently.

Mr G can be reached via email at planetgeeman@gmail.com for any Parker fans or proud Kiwis who have a wall available in Mangere.
