'All the pressure's on Joshua' - Joseph Parker happy with underdog tag before unification bout

March 23, 2018

The Kiwi is the lesser fancied fighter for the April 1 fight in Cardiff.

Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker is happy with the underdog tag heading into his world title unification bout with Anthony Joshua in Cardiff next month.

Heading into the April 1 clash in Cardiff, Parker is by far the outsider among with the bookies' favourite Joshua tipped to take out the bout to claim the unbeaten Kiwi's WBO title.

Speaking to media in London this morning though, Parker's trainer Kevin Barry is alright with Parker being the outside contender heading into the fight.

"I think the bookmakers have bought into this 'marvel of Anthony Joshua'," Barry said.

"I think they over-read the Klitschko performance - we're talking about a 41-year old man who looked pretty sloppy in his fight before that."

"Joseph Parker is a young hungry guy, the bookmakers over here don't seem to give him much of a chance."

"We've really welcomed this training camp because it's taken all the pressure off us. All the pressure's on Joshua - the surprise will be Joseph Parker."
