Brendon Hartley clocks sixth-fastest time in second F1 practice for Mexican GP

October 27, 2018

Kiwi Formula 1 driver Brendon Hartley has clocked the sixth fastest time in the second practice session ahead of tomorrow's Mexican Grand Prix.

Hartley logged a time of 1:18:061 in this morning's second session at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City but he was still 1.341 seconds slower than Red Bull pace-setter Max Verstappen.

The 28-year-old was on the course for 35 laps before heading back to the pits.

Hartley's time was 0.039s faster than defending F1 champion Lewis Hamilton who was seventh fastest.

Ironically, Hamilton only needs a seventh-place finish or higher to secure this year's title with the Brazillian Grand Prix still to come.

The third and final practice session takes place at 4am NZT tomorrow followed by qualifying at 7am before the race itself on Monday morning at 7:10am.
