Warriors target 20,000 fans for Mt Smart clash against Roosters

May 7, 2018

Cameron George says everyone is coming together to give back to their loyal fans.

After the impressive fan turnout for the Warriors' 26-4 victory over the Wests Tigers last weekend, club CEO Cameron George is targeting a 20,000 strong crowd for the side's next home clash against the Roosters on Saturday.

With the club's red hot start to 2018, seeing the Warriors sit second on the NRL ladder - two points behind the Dragons - George says his team want to see the fans trump the 16,727 fans who attended the win over the Tigers.

"Our crowds have been awesome so far, but I've challenged the staff this week not to sit on their hands and accept what we've got," George told Fairfax.

"Let's get better. The football side are doing their things and our game day experience has improved considerably over this year.

"But we've got to try to fill the stadium as best we can, we're hoping for over 20,000 to come to this game, because it really does help the team.

"We are averaging over 18,500 a game now, but I want to take us to another level."

The Warriors' round 10 clash with the Roosters kicks off at 5pm on Saturday.
