Witnesses sought to Christchurch police chase, crash that resulted in teens' deaths

Witnesses say the car erupted in a ball of fire.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the police chase in Christchurch on Sunday night which preceded to the deaths of three teenagers in a ball of fire.

Anyone who was in the area of Moorhouse Avenue or Blenheim Road around 11pm and saw the white Mazda prior to the crash, or the crash itself, is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Brad Grainger on 03 363 7400.

The police appeal comes as the mother of two of the boys - Glenn Mcallister, 16, and his 13-year-old brother, Craig - said she was in complete shock.

Commander Superintendent John Price spoke to media after the triple-fatal accident following a police pursuit, on January 13.

Glenn was driving the stolen car with Craig and a friend, Brooklyn Taylor, 13, when they hit police spikes and crashed into a tree, causing a “ball of fire”.
