Watch: Obama and John Key's bromance continues to flourish on Kiwi golf course

March 22, 2018

The bromance between former President Barack Obama and John Key is going well if this moment on a golf course today is anything to go by.

John Key described himself as the bait for Barack Obama’s trip to New Zealand and it looks like the former PM was not wrong, with the bromance between the two flourishing as they enjoyed another round of golf today.

Footage from the exclusive Tara Iti course in Mangawhai Heads shows Obama wrap an arm around Key as the two enjoy a brief chat on the green.

The moment comes after a solid couple of days bonding on some of the upper North Island’s best golf courses.

It also comes despite Obama's frustration with a short game that has let him down so far in his time in New Zealand.

The ex US President's short game on the exclusive Tara Iti course in Mangawhai Heads appeared to be a bit lacking today.

Obama played at Kauri Cliffs course in Matauri Bay yesterday with his team going down to New Zealand team that included Key and his son Max.

The former Us President is about to board a helicopter bound for Auckland where he will be welcomed with a powhirir onto Government house before a brief meeting with Jacinda Ardern.
