Labour MP Andrew Little and Wellington Mayor Justin Lester have attempted to reach out to the youth in a slang-laden new tongue-in-cheek video titled The Great City Showdown.
Posted to Little's Twitter page today, the pair teamed up to debate the finer points of New Plymouth and Wellington in a bid to see which is the greatest city.
"I hear New Plymouth is pretty lit this time of year," Lester begins the video.
"Bruh, you can't beat New Plymouth on a good day," Little responds.
"SMH, everyone knows Wellington is pretty Gucci," Lester quips back.
"Bye, Felicia," Little says, using an internet meme taken from Ice Cube's stoner comedy flick Friday.
The two then get into the nitty gritty of the debate, comparing New Plymouth and Wellington's art works and bar scenes among other things.

Little released another tongue-in-cheek video in September calling for young recruits to get into politics.
