Video: Nelson floods create havoc for supermarket staff as they desperately sandbag entrance

Heavy rain is disrupting flights and causing flooding across Nelson.

At least two flights have been cancelled and more than ten have been delayed or diverted.

Several businesses have been affected by flooding, with New World Stoke supermarket forced to close for more than an hour.

Staff were seen mopping up water and bailing out drains.

Store owner Tracey Anderson told 1 NEWS it's the third time they've had to deal with flooding in the past couple of months.

A spokesperson for Fire and Emergency says they've been called to at least five properties this morning.
