Video: Elderly Auckland dairy owners violently beaten by cigarette thieves

Ugly footage of an elderly couple being assaulted and robbed of cigarettes in their Auckland dairy was posted online yesterday.

CCTV video caught the moment two men forced their way behind the counter of the Garnet Dairy in the suburb of Westemere at 10.50am yesterday morning.

Police confirmed the perpetrators got away with cigarettes and nothing else.  

There were no serious injuries and no medical attention was required to the owners. 

Inquiries are ongoing to locate the offenders.
