Two men who drowned in separate incidents in Auckland on Sunday are named

The two men who drowned in separate incidents at different Auckland swimming spots on Sunday have been named.

Police have named Upmanya Sharma, 23, as the man who died at Hunua Falls.

Johannes Edwin Proosten, 50, died following an incident at a water hole off Pratts Road, Ramarama the same day.

Police say their sympathies are with both families.

The deaths have been referred to the coroner.
