Teen charged after removal from plane at Auckland Airport for 'threatening comment'

A 19-year-old man has been charged this morning after being removed from a plane at Auckland Airport last night for making a "threatening comment".

Police confirmed this morning the teenager has been charged with breaching the Civil Aviation Act.

The man made the comment while the plane was stationary and staff on board the aircraft were notified of it by another passenger, leading to the police being called at 8.45pm.

Police say he will appear in Manukau District Court today to face the charge.
