Sweltering days forecast to hit Invercargill

The hot temperatures sweeping the country is setting Invercargill up for sweltering days.

MetService reported the Southern city will hit 31 degrees Celsius tomorrow and Monday.

"Invercargill has only hit 30 degrees five times since 1993."

Other areas of the country are swapping the heat for rain, with warnings for rain in Nelson and central and southern parts of the North Island.
