Police are continuing to search for a missing Bay of Plenty boatie who is believed to have fallen into the water near Tanners Point yesterday afternoon.
Joined by the coastguard and a rescue helicopter, police are scouring the area for the man, who had been the sole occupant of a dinghy.
In a statement, police search co-ordinator Sergeant Vince Ranger said that yesterday's search began with an aerial sweep in the air, aided by a harbour search by the Coastguard.
