Person dies in workplace forestry accident in Gisborne Region

One person has died after a tree fell on them in a forestry operation in the Gisborne Region.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Raukumara near Ruatoria at around 12:30pm today.

WorkSafe confirmed the fatality to 1 NEWS.
