A person has died this afternoon following a snorkelling incident in Northland's Kai Iwi Lakes.
Police say the person was found unresponsive in the water at Lake Taharoa near Omamari at around 3pm today.
After being taken ashore they could not be revived.
The death has been referred to the Coroner.
