Person dies in Auckland house fire

Senior station officer Jeremy Gibbons says an investigation into the blaze is underway.

A person has died in a house fire in the Auckland suburb of New Windsor today.

Emergency services were called to the property on Mulgan St at 5:43am.

Police say the cause of the fire is still unclear at this stage.

Police will be working at the scene today with Fire and Emergency NZ investigators.
