One dead after house fire in eastern Bay of Plenty

A person has died in a house fire in Opotiki in eastern Bay of Plenty last night.

Four fire crews and police were called to the blaze on Richard St after 10pm, where a body was found.

The scene was guarded overnight with police to assist fire with inquiries today.
