The New Zealand Defence Force has sent an Orion aircraft too look for a Tuvalu fisherman in the Pacific.
A crew took off from Whenuapai this morning and should have reached the search area by about now.
The man has been missing since Monday evening and help was requested in finding him by the Fiji Maritime Surveillance Rescue Coordination Centre (FMSRCC).
Locals have been searching for the man in private boats since yesterday.
