'Merry Christmas' – NZ Defence Force personnel stationed far away from home get into festive spirit

December 18, 2017

New Zealand Defence Force personnel deployed far away from home this festive season have taken to social media to bid Kiwis back home a Merry Christmas.

A light-hearted video posted to the NZ Defence Force Facebook page shows personnel dressed as Santa in places such as Iraq, Egypt and even Antarctica giving their best to those back home this festive season.

Comments on the video from supportive Kiwis are bound to make the personnel feel warm and fuzzy this Christmas.

"Amazing humans, thank you for all that you do and the sacrifice you make being away from your loved ones at xmas. Merry Christmas!" Sarah Wrigley wrote.

"Merry Xmas to all our NZDF personnel wherever you are. Your presence in some areas are lifesaving and we thank you," Barbara Ross commented.

The video was posted to Facebook with the caption: "Some of our deployed personnel wanted to wish you, their family and friends a Merry Christmas."

It has already racked up over 10,000 views since being posted earlier today.
