A man is wanted over a night time assault of a girl in the grounds of a Nelson school in February
Police say between 8.30pm and 9.20pm on February 27 the girl walked along Collingwood Street, into Nile Street through Nelson Central School, then returned the same way.
The girl was physically assaulted in the school grounds by a man described as having a large build.
Police say the man was wearing a black hoody, loose fitting jeans that were ripped at the knee, and black and white Nike shoes.
Police say they'd like to hear from anyone who saw a man fitting that description in the area around the time of the assault.
They would also like to speak to an elderly couple who the girl saw while walking near 170 Collingwood Street, as they believe they may have seen something which could assist the investigation.
