Man seriously injured in shark attack at Northland beach

A man has been attacked by a shark in the water at Baylys Beach, near Dargaville in Northland today.

Police say the attack happened at around 6pm.

The 25-year-old man has been flown to Whangarei Hospital for treatment.

A St John spokesperson told 1 NEWS he is in a serious condition.

Police remain at the beach and will be providing advice to anyone in the area.
