Man arrested following police chase that ended at an Auckland mall

The driver of a fleeing car who led police on a chase to an Auckland mall has been arrested.

The driver took off from police after they attempted to pull the car he was driving over in the South Auckland suburb of Manukau.

Officers initially pursued the car, but then abandoned the chase.

The car drove erratically northbound but came to a stop in the suburb of Mt Wellington after officers spiked the vehicle.

The man then fled on foot into Sylvia Park mall where he was eventually located by police and arrested.
