Man arrested after attempted abduction of four-year-old girl, indecent acts towards children in Hamilton

A 27-year-old Huntly man has been arrested following an attempted abduction and a series of indecent acts towards children in Hamilton.

An investigation began after a four-year-old girl was pulled into a car in Hamilton on October 5.

The child was pushed out of the vehicle after a family member came out of a nearby house and gave chase.

He will appear in Hamilton District Court today, charged with one count of kidnapping, four counts of committing an indecent act, and two counts of presenting an indecent show or performance.

Police would like to speak with anyone whose child has recently been the victim of an indecent incident in the Hamilton area, particularly involving a man driving a white car.

Anyone with any information has been asked to contact Detective Constable Rhiannon Jones of the Hamilton CIB on 021 930 204.
