Major disruptions to Auckland train services today

December 12, 2018
Auckland, New Zealand - May 26, 2013: People walk beside a MAXX train at platform in Britomart Transport Centre on May 26 2013. It designed to serve up to 10,500 passengers during the peak hour in its current configuration as a terminus

Aucklanders planning on travelling by train today will need to find alternative transport as union members attend a meeting.

No trains will be running in Auckland between 9.30am and 2pm today, impacting a total of 105 services.

A number of Southern and Western line train services outside of these times will also have disruptions.

Those travelling on a 9.30am train from Britomart will be on the last train out and the last train to arrive at Britomart before the meeting gets into the station at 10am.

Rail and Maritime Transport Union members are attending the meeting between 11am and 1pm but the disruptions extend to two hours either side of the meeting.

Staff will be at train stations during the disruptions to help anyone with their transport queries.
