Main highway at Warkworth closed after crash

A crash last night has forced the closure of State Highway One in both directions at Warkworth, north of Auckland.

The sole occupant of a car sustained minor injuries in the single car crash at 11.30pm.

A power pole has been damaged and diversion are likely to remain in place for much of the morning.

Northbound traffic is being diverted off State Highway 1 at Hill Street, while southbound traffic is being diverted at Woodcocks Road.

Those travelling through the area should consider using State Highway 16.
