The woman who was found dead at a Nelson hotel on Friday, in what police are treating as a case of homicide, has been named.
Police have confirmed the woman was Yanyan Meng, a 62-year-old Swiss national.
On Monday 62-year-old man was granted interim name suppression, entered no plea at the Nelson District Court and has been remanded in custody.
He is due to appear in the High Court in Nelson on May 18.
