Canterbury's Medical Officer of Health says he believes public health strategies are working to help stop the spread of Christchurch's measles outbreak, with no new cases in the past 24 hours.
Speaking to media today Dr Ramon Pink revealed that four of the 28 people infected with the disease were fully immunised against measles.
But Dr Pink reiterated that "immunisation is the best protection" against the disease, saying the "majority of our cases are not immunised."
Six of the cases have been confirmed to have only received one of the two vaccinations and 12 cases are currently under investigation, Dr Pink said.
The measles outbreak began on February 22 and a rapid growth of cases have occurred since.
The number of cases are still expected to grow but health officials are confident the stock of vaccines will cover the estimated target group and health officials will monitor the uptake of vaccines.
