Australians have lost nearly $300,000 to the scams this year alone, and New Zealand isn’t immune either, Fair Go reports.

People in Australia have lost nearly $300,000 to puppy scams this year alone.

It seems adorable animals combined with lockdown loneliness is a weak spot for lots of us.

Of course we're not immune to that on this side of the ditch either.
