A electricity transformer outage in Auckland's Manukau is causing significant disruption for motorists.
An eyewitness filmed the tranformer on fire and provided the footage to 1 NEWS.
Counties Manukau Police are warning motorists to avoid the area around Cavendish Drive after a the outage at the Cavendish Drive/Sharkey St intersection.
Police say contractors are working to restore power, however power will be out for at least an hour and this is affecting traffic lights in the surrounding area.
The outage is already causing significant traffic disruption and motorists are urged to avoid the area this morning if possible.
