Several families have found themselves without homes for Christmas after a fire ripped through seven hectares of rural Rolleston farm land yesterday afternoon.
The blaze tore through, giving the owners and their grandchildren only moments to evacuate.
Investigators are looking into how the blaze began in a neighbouring paddock.
Authorities are hoping more caution will avoid similar incidents.
