Body found in Coromandel bush believed to be missing man

A body thought to be that of a man missing in Coromandel bush has been found on the Castle Rock Track.

Shannon Earle Makowharemahihi, 37, was last seen on 1 June.

Police said he was a spiritual person who was known to go into the bush to meditate.

A formal identification has not been made yet.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
