Bush fire that caused school north of Auckland to be evacuated under control

A bush fire that was threatening a school north of Auckland, forcing students to evacuate, is now under control.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand told 1 NEWS crews were called to a large fire at Oruawharo School Road near Wellsford at 10.25am.

The fire is now under control and there have been no reports of injuries.

Six fire crews attended the scene, along with two helicopters.
