Auckland child fighting for life after taking drug GBL

An Auckland child is fighting for life after ingesting the drug GBL.

St John Ambulance took the child to Starship hospital in a critical condition after being called to Great South Rd in Takanini around 7pm on Tuesday.

Police say initial indications are that the child ingested class B drug GBL, also known as fantasy or liquid ecstasy.

Police are investigating and are working with Oranga Tamariki.
