The Hunt for the Wilderpeople star was speaking at the premiere of Thor: Ragnarok in Auckland.

Taika Waititi isn't the only Kiwi set to make big waves in Hollywood with Hunt for the Wilderpeople star Julian Dennison talking about what it was like to work with Ryan Reynolds on the new Deadpool 2 movie.

Dennison was attending the New Zealand premiere of Thor: Ragnarok at Sylvia Park in Auckland on Tuesday night, when 1 NEWS' Lisette Reymer asked him about his relationship with the A-list actor Ryan Reynolds.

"He's got a very beautiful face, it was great working with the other cast and stuff as well," Dennison said.

The young Kiwi actor was coy about details though, due to the secrecy surrounding his role in the film.

"But I can't really say anything (about the shoot) I have to zip it, lock it and put it in my pocket, I actually got that saying from over there as well.

The Taika Waititi film has its premiere in Auckland tonight.

"All I can say is it was really great working over there in Vancouver Canada and it was an awesome shoot."

Reymer then asked him if he played the same character which made him famous in Taika Waititi's Hunt for the Wilderpeople.

Giving a wry smile, Dennison said he couldn't comment on that either.

Thor: Ragnarok opens in Kiwi cinemas on Thursday with Deadpool 2 slated for release on May 31, 2018.
