Space Jam 2 given July 16 2021 release date

Basketball fans will want to mark July 2021 in their calendars, with the sequel to Space Jam reported to hit big screens.

In the sequel to the 1996 smash hit, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will line up alongside the likes of Bugs and Lola Bunny, in the live-action sports comedy film.

A tweet from production company SpringHill Entertainment confirmed the release date of July 16 2021, picturing James alongside Bugs and Lola Bunny.

Terence Nance, the creator of HBO's Randon Acts of Flyness will direct, while Black Panther director Ryan Coogler has been confirmed to be the film's producer.

Filming will reportedly take place during the upcoming NBA off-season, allowing James to see out his first full season with the Lakers before production begins.
