'A lot of improvisation' – NZ actress Rachel House raves at cast's response to Taika Waititi's style for Thor: Ragnarok

October 11, 2017

New Zealand actress and Hunt for the Wilderpeople star Rachel House said the cast of Thor: Ragnarok "were amazing" at the improvisation techniques Kiwi director Taika Waititi enforced on set.

House yesterday walked along the red carpet at the premiere of the latest Marvel blockbuster with the A-List cast, including Australia's Chris Hemsworth and Cate Blanchett.

Waititi's self confessed good luck charm - House - said that she didn't know what to expect walking into the premiere screening.

"There was a lot of improvisation on the day so who knows if it's going to remain in there or not, I don't know," House explained.

The actress said the cast "were amazing, they were all warm" to the idea of improvisation, which accounts for 80 per cent of the movie.

House portrays the character of Topaz, and described her character as "the Grandmaster's main henchperson" that's "very protective over him."
