Auckland City Limits music festival adds big name rappers and te reo metal band in final announcement

Alien Weaponry won both of the competitions within the same weekend.

The 2018 Auckland City Limits music festival has finalised its line-up today, adding two big names in American rap music and two more local acts into the already star-studded mix.

Young Thug and Future are the final two international acts added to the bill, with te reo metal band Alien Weaponry and rapper JessB rounding out the Kiwi contingent playing the festival held at Western Springs on March 3.

Atlanta rappers Future and Young Thug recently collaborated on the mix-tape Super Slimey, so it's no surprise they will appear on the same bill together.

Next year is set to be a big year for the young Northland metal band Alien Weaponry, who have also secured spots on the European rock festival scene.

JessB is making waves in the local hip-hop scene as well, with track Soul Free being produced by Kiwi legend P-Money and released in June this year.

The final four acts join more than 30 other artists, including names like Grace Jones and Beck.

The full list of performers can be found at the Auckland City Limits website.
