In Australia, each new year brings over 300,000 new lives into the world. Yet no birth story is ever the same.

One Born Every Minute celebrates those first special moments for parents, by taking a fast-paced Birth Unit inside Sydney’s Westmead Hospital and fitting it out with 60 remotely-operated cameras, which film for 24/7, over an eight week period. The stories in the series focus on human connections – the relationships, tensions, fears, joy and laughter.

Filming from the moment the expected mother enters Westmead’s Birth Unit, this ground-breaking and tender series captures the beginning of life as it really happens. It observes the heart warming, emotional and often funny moments that go hand in hand with bringing a new life into the world, from the perspective of the soon-to-be parents and family, as well as the midwives and obstetricians
