Brothers Max and Jake couldn’t be more different. Max is wealthy with an apparently perfect life. Jake scrapes a living running a record shop.

Driving home late one night, they accidentally kill an old man on a darkened street. They manage to conceal their crime, but when others suspect the death wasn’t as innocent as it first appeared, the brothers’ lives start falling apart.

As their guilt takes them into a dangerous world where everyone seems to have a hidden agenda, they soon discover they can trust no-one. Not even each other.

The Exceptional Squad follows orphans Kahu (Jaden Daniels; Herea Winitana) and Mania (Keshia Castle-Hughes; Ngahuia Piripi) as they settle into their new lives with their Aunty B in the big city.

New to the bright lights, they find it tough to make friends at their school, and this is not helped by a group of students who are determined to make their stay an unwelcome one. But what no one knows, including the fellow students, is that Kahu and Mania were born with secret super powers and in times of trouble, or even frustration, they are able to use their IMAGINATIONS and DANCE to overcome any obstacle.

The Exceptional Squad will be offered in both English and Te Reo Māori with the alternate lead actors voicing the two iterations.

This week in the MasterChef kitchen, we’ve got the first elimination of the season!

Nobody wants to be the first person sent home, as all of these contestants are Back to Win. However, Gordon Ramsay has left them a surprise that will dictate their success in the cook.

The successful contestants next head to a team challenge, where they take on the ultimate BBQ at St Kilda Beach, cooking for 1200 people.

These chefs are all stars in their own right, but will they be able to put this aside and work as a team, or are there too many cooks in the kitchen?

Then, the first ever two-round pressure test is set by Jock at his restaurant Orana, and finally – the first Mystery Box of the season!
