Stacey, 29, Invercargill

Stacey is a body piercer and mum to Madison, Oliver and Lilly-Mae. Stacey has recently undergone a massive lifestyle change, losing 68kgs. Following her weight loss, Stacey has gone on to compete in and win body building competitions – she wants to show her children there are no limits to what you can achieve. A passionate baker since the age of seven, Stacey cherishes her memories of cooking with her mum and nana, along with the family recipe book she inherited.

Why did you apply for The Great Kiwi Bake Off?

I knew this was a once in a lifetime experience and an opportunity I couldn’t ignore.

How would you describe your baking style?

Bright, colourful and funky!

What is your signature bake?

Cupcakes and cakes.

What home-made baking dish are you most proud of?

It’s not really a dish, but I make amazing pikelets.

What has been your biggest baking disaster?

I haven’t really had anything too major at home thankfully, just forgetting to add an ingredient or a cake not rising. I find most things can be fixed.

If you were a baked item, what would you be and why?

Definitely a cupcake, who doesn’t like cupcakes! You can dress them up, have them plain, bright, colourful – they’re perfect.

What would your ‘death row’ sweet treat be?

Depends on the day, probably donuts.

What would winning The Great Kiwi Bake Off mean to you?

It would be amazing to win the show, but I’ll just be stoked to make it past episode one!
