Today the World Cup Sevens tournament kicks off in San Francisco and our men's and women's team will enter the stadium as defending champions.

Both teams are determined to leave the home of the San Francisco Giants with their titles intact.

With only four players that have played at a World Cup before, however, Captain Sarah Goss has no qualms that there is enough experience in her team.

"It's been an amazing year we've had some quality players come through and to be able to come into a World Cup with four tournament wins has been really exciting as well I just love it."

The final touches are almost done at AT&T for the expected 60,000 fans across the three days.

NZ Black Ferns Sevens will face Mexico this morning at 6:50 AM NZT followed by the NZ All Blacks Sevens first match at 3:31 PM NZT.
